Why I am blogging......

I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Monday........

I know there are a lot of folks like me, just wishing to be under these palm trees. Oh, to be listening to the ocean and to be able to totally relax. All together now, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:) So many people I know are hurting. Either they are physically hurting or someone in their family is suffering. Mark and I often talk about our blessed we are with a healthy family.

Today was a good day! The weather was so much better than yesterday. I did not want to get up this morning but as I was driving to work I thought about being able to see. I am thankful for my eyesight!!
The ability to see my children and just to see all the creations that God has made. So, even though getting up is hard, I am humbled that I have the ability to get up!! Sometimes I just have to adjust my attitude and get on with the day!!!

Now back to those palm trees, mmmmmmmmmm:))))))))))))

Frightful Friday ... and other Ramblings

Lisa's son Nate had a serious crash on his racing dirt bike Friday. I am not clear on the details other than maybe his kick stand feel down and caused him to crash. It could have been much, much worse. However, he did suffer a head injury and a lot of "road rash", but seems to be recovering well. I know that Lisa is just proud that Nate is ok.

We did our usual thing Friday night. We ate supper with D & D, and Chase. It is nice to get a week in-review from everyone. We usually laugh a lot and just unwind from a busy week. Being the "partier" that I am.......I have my gown on and in bed by 10:00p.m. I just can't hang well anymore. My body starts shutting down around 9:00 p.m. every night. (weekends included)

Evan and Kallie got their boat out of storage yesterday so that Evan can get the ski tower installed. We left ours in storage for probably a couple more months. I just can't go to the lake and freeze. Really the water is cold until mid-June or so...I can make it knowing that summer is coming!!!

We attended church this morning with Evan and his family at Dibrell. It is nice to visit other churches and talk with people you do not normally get to see. We notice that the fields and trees are so green. I think we are just use to everything looking so dead that we are excited to see color!!!!!

I think Nick has the right ideal, he is laying in the kitchen floor snoring, so I think I will head to the couch.:))))) Love and peace to all!!!!!

Tasty Tuesday.......

The buzzards are circling!!!! Literally and figuratively!!! We were all hungry tonight. So I whipped up green beans (from last years garden) corn, garlic potatoes and a Debbie's chicken somethin somethin (I don't have a name for it , yet) Oh yeah and rolls. I browned the chicken breasts 3-4 minutes on each side in my good ole iron skillet. Then I transferred them to a 9 X 13 dish and dusted each with S & P, herbs and a small slice of good ole butter. Then topped each with crumbled bacon and baked for 30 to 40 minutes. No, not figure friendly, but once again, good for the soul.:) I made two strawberry pies last night so there you have it. Speaking of having it, I have had it, I am too pooped to pop.

We also worked on the garden over the weekend. We have planted red onions. That will be all for now, it is too early.

Have a good week, and do something nice for some needy soul. Love and peace to all!

Terrific Tuesday

I enjoyed today for several different reasons. It was just a good day all day. First, after the fog burned off a beautiful sky appeared. The sky was crisp, vivid and the sun was wonderful! Then I ENJOYED lunch with three of my dear friends. It is so nice to be with others that love you and like you just the way you are!!! I am guilty of getting caught up in the daily grind and not taking time to talk to others, not because I do not care, but just being tired and controlled by daily obligations. Anyway, I love you girls and cherish your friendship. I have been so blessed in my life. I have always been surrounded by a lot of GOOD people. I am thankful for my friends.

I will be saying a special prayer for Paula Wanamaker tonight and in the morning. I know God will take care of her, but we are told to bear each others burdens so Sweet Paula I hope things go well for you.

As I close this post, I am aware that it is my favorite time of the day. 5:30 to 7:00 pm are the times I love. I think it is because the workday is over, at least at the workplace, also I think it is because my family comes home and we usually share supper together and I get to hear about every one's day. We share our cares and concerns. I like having all my chicks in the nest!!! When the day is done it is always nice to have Family to hold, hug and to love. Except when it is Spring break and the kids do not ever come home!!!!!:))) Love and peace to all!

Another fast moving weekend...

Where does the weekend fly off to??? Never, never land?! I leave work on Friday afternoon and before I can turn around it is Sunday night!!! I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend. We have had a calm one!!!! Kallie has been gone to a mock trial competition and Kyle has been to the cow sale. So, it has been just me and Poo for a lot of the weekend. The kids are happy about it being Spring Break. Even though, we are not going anywhere, (we are all working, thankfully) but it is nice to be out of the grind for them.

Isn't everything blooming just beautiful? Every year I say the same thing...this is the best spring ever!! I love to watch everything "wake-up"! Have a great week. Love and peace to all!!!!!!!

Our Sunday

Since it was a beautiful day we started getting our small garden ready. We will only have a few vegetables and some flowers but it is fun to grow your own stuff. Mark had to break out his new toy, I mean lawn mower and we all pitched in cleaning up the yard.

The new time and warm weather is a welcome relief to us. It has been a long winter and being able to be outside is so nice. We are getting ready for prom and mud bogging at our house. What a combination!!! I have said often that Kallie and Kyle are very different and that is probably the understatement of all time. I am happy though that they have their own likes and variety of interests. As I have told them over and over again (in many of my many many many lectures, if we were all the same we would be boring)! Mark is looking forward to going to the lake and I am struggling trying to take off some fluffiness. I hope everyone has a good week. I need a less stressful one, last week was a double whammy week for me. Love and peace to all----

Here's the Latest...................

"Due to recent budget cuts and the cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions and the continued decline of the U.S. economy, The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off. We apologize for any inconvenience."

The first time I read this I laughed and laughed and laughed. The second time I read it I stilled chuckled, but then I pondered on the statement and thought, how true. However, I had rather live in the USA than anywhere else, other than Heaven.

And is it just me or what???????.............I am SICK of Rush Limbaugh. Good Grief, Hush Rush!!!!!ple-----zzzzzz

A Must See

This is worth waiting through the buffering to watch. I have been touched by this ministry. I believe in my heart this is real worship. Forgetting the labels we put on each other, and forgetting the past and appreciating the now. God is so good. Amen
