Why I am blogging......

I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Life may not be good on Rocky Top but it sure is in Titan Town!!!! Go Titans!!!

Catching Up

I have been slacking at blogging lately. Life sometimes happens and things do not turn out the way I plan them to. But I am working on rolling with it and enjoying all the spur of the moments. Speaking of spur-of-the-moment, yesterday after breakfast Mark and I headed out to drive down this really back, back country-road. We could remember driving down it a long time ago. We found it, but we also found this road (pig-path is what i called it) and it was beautiful. The road was curvy, (to say the least)and the leaves were falling and it was still early morning so the sun was sparkling on the fall leaves, Wow, we were just in awe of how pretty the scenery was down this cute country, country road. After we got our "fix" of riding we went to search out plates. This is my hobby not Marks'. However, he likes to "hunt" for old car emblems, old vintage car advertisements, old lures and such, so he does his thing and I do mine. Which is good because usually together we come up with some really good finds. But yesterday we did not turn up with anything. Which is sometimes the case. We will hit it again soon. Eveybody (besides me) went riding today after church. We went to Earlyville today with my Uncle and Aunt and their family. Actually my brothers and their families were there also. My cousin, Philips' son Lucas, preached there today. He did a good job. I just admire these young men that get up and preach with such zeal. I did not want to ride today, I had things to do at home and I like the times I am here alone. I tend to get more things done, or not.. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. GO TITANS!!!

Gratitude

Gratitude is defined as..the quality or feeling of being thankful.Everyone defines gratitude differently, which is a good thing. Like I tell my kids, if we were all the same we would be boring. So what I am grateful for may seem silly or crazy to others, but that is okay. I try to remember to be a blessing to others daily. It does not require much to just lighten the load of others. When life gets overwhelming (and when doesn't it?) it's easy to forget the important stuff; the large or small, that help define your life. I am grateful for time away, sleep, hearing my kids laugh, hot showers, the ability to remember, Mark, the joy of Nick. I want to share 4 benefits of giving thanks...it helps you feel in control, it improves your health, it helps you cope better with trauma, and it helps with self-worth and self-esteem. I am grateful that I know God and can talk to him anytime, anywhere. So take time this week to slow down, (I am trying) help others in some small way, and look around we are so blessed. I am grateful for the "now" moments.

Yeeepeeeeeeeeeee Now Take Down Your Signs

I am so proud that today is election day! All the mud-sligging, trash-talking, can cease, please. And while we are at it, make sure to take down all the Vote for......signs. My ADD has been working OT. I think I have to read them all and drive and sometimes talk on the phone and Help me if I trying to text, I am strung out from all of it. And today I wanted to look at everyone who was holding a sign or sitting by a sign. ENOUGH!!!!!!!
All jokes and kidding aside, I am thankful we have the right to vote. But I think everything is carried waaaaay tooo far. For instance, Monday, at Walmart, the Halloween candy was on clearance, the Christmas trees were (are) up, Thanksgiving
is not even here and, and , and Christmas music was blast--ing. I am just a little uptight about how commerical everything has gotten. I am trying to enjoy the here and NOW but the future is being pushed down my throat.

Speaking of the here and NOW, and throat, I have a piece of apple pie and ice cream waiting on me; apple pie and the election returns I love it. Just take down those signs:)))))))))))))

Busy Day

We were so busy today doing alittle of everything. We were sad to store our boat for the winter, however it is nice to have a place to put it out of the weather. Billy Wood and friends purchased the A.O.Smith building sometime ago and are renting office spaces and storage for boats, jet skis, and RVs.(climate controlled which is important) I guess with the new month the holiday season is quickly approaching. Honestly, I love Thanksgiving. I love to be with family and enjoy getting to hear what is new with everyone. I took down Halloween and put Thanksgiving in its place. I have adopted the less is best attitude for the past several years, so it is not a all day thing to change decorations. We are begining to put up our outdoor furniture as well, and it brings on a couped up feeling already. I am a warm weather gal and even though it really has not gotten very cold in the past several years, I just feel better when it is hot. So between all the above and a bad case of ADD today I feel pooped tonight. But tomorrows lunch is almost done and after church and lunch, ahhhhhhhhh Sunday nap. Love, Love , Love Sundays:)
