Why I am blogging......

I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Preparing for the Prom...

Whewwwwwww!!! We were up and at-em this morning. First, for a manicure and pedicure, tanning bed, hair, and makeup. We dashed home to get dressed and Kallie looked lovely!!! And Evan is so handsome!!!! Barry and Aleesha came over and took pictures and visited for awhile. It is such a blessing to know your daughter is dating a Christian man and has a Christian family.

Then we all headed over to the Civic Center. I had NO ideal how festive it would be. It was truly a party atmosphere and I noticed a lot of families there taking pictures and celebrating with the kids. I of course got teary several times today.
But it was a good teary eyed, not sad but proud that I could enjoy these moments with Kallie and her friends.

What a great day!!! love and peace to all:)

TOOOOO Long Tuesday...

The Haley house is a-hopping!! I am excited for Kallie and Evan and their crew going to the prom!! I have been trying to remember my prom. I still have my dress, size 3, yes I said 3. I have not always been this fluffy and fabulous!heheheheheeeee I asked Mark to my prom, but I cannot remember where we ate. You know back then that was not important.:) I am almost sure I did my own hair and I had press on nails. With krazy glue!!!! Bright blue eye shadow, to match my dress and my shoes were dyed (? spelling) to match!!!!Of course bright red lipstick and hooooche earrings.

Thankfully, Kallie has better taste than her Mom did! I will post pics soon.

Kyle is still preparing for mud bog season. I will say it again, I would have never, ever thought I would be at a mud bog, but I will if he is there!!! One thing we have at the Haley house is variety. Never a dull moment!! And I love it!!! Our home would just be a house without everything that happens here. I truly believe these are the best days!!!

It is getting around bed time for this weary girl. I want to leave with advice....if you are feeling droopy, this will help lift you up...it works every time for me......put on your lipstick you will instantly feel better!!! Some good ole bright red is the best!!!:)))))))love and peace to all

Update

I hope everyone had a family-filled Easter!!! We had a good time Friday night, all the Garrison's came!!! Everyone was happy to see Ross and Jesse home from school and we were thankful that we survived the storms. I just feel for all the people in Murfreesboro that suffered so much damage and devastation. I had never really thought about how much of a responsibility that the meteorologist have to get the word out about possible tornadoes and storms. But because of the coverage and the equipment that the stations have they saved so many lives. My heart hurts for the young man that lost his wife and baby. I cannot even imagine how he feels. After all he is hurt and I wonder how he even wants to get better. Wow, I am so blessed.

Enough of that........we are ready for the Prom and mudbog!:) All our planning and "getting" is over, now we wait for the big day. I am so proud of Kallie and Kyle they are so fun and funny to be around. I can't wait sometimes to get home to hear their stories and how their day has gone. Family .......what would I do without them.

Poo is trying to be a bit sneaky, I think!!! We have an anniversary coming up and I have a sneaky feeling he is trying to plan something Oh I hope so!!!! I love to be surprised. Afterall, it has been 24 lon-------g and try----ing years!!!hehehehehehe:)

Remembering Mr. Dan Miller......

Mr. Miller did not , of course know me. But this afternoon when I had a chance to look at WSMV's homepage, I got teary eyed. I, like so many others, grew up with Dan. He has a sense of warmness, and professionalism about him. He told me Elvis died!!! I was on my front porch (still at home with Mom and Dad) of course and I remember going into the house and heard the breaking news music and it was Mr. Miller informing Tennessee that Elvis has died. Wow!!! I usually suffer from CRS but somehow I remember this:)

His calmness and warmness will be missed. Again we all have a very limited time ......make the most of it. He was.........he was in his home town watching the warming up of the Masters. Wow, at least he was enjoying himself and others, again a lesson to us all!!!

Love and peace to all:))))))
