Why I am blogging......

I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Thankful

I have been thinking today....(scary huh?) I have so much to be thankful for....a great husband, family, job, home, the list can go on forever. But I think sometimes I get too comfortable. I am praying that God will use me in some way that will benefit others. I feel like I need to "pay rent" for my time here. I am looking for new doors to be opened to help others. I also pray that I will recognize "the door" when it is being opened.

The pic above is My Dad and Mom. I know I look just like Frances!!! I am beginning to act a lot like her too. She is a hoot!! My Daddy can also be so funny. I love them so much.

Have a good weekend. love and peace to all

Explanation of pics

Of course Friday night was graduation. What a night!:) The weather was great and everything was perfect. We got there around 5:00 to save seats for our family. Whew...it was toasty!!! I was the proud MOM of course. Then, on to Project Graduation. Wow......it was a par--ty!!! We got home around 5:30 a.m. I thought those hours were long gone years ago, but it was fun. I did feel like I was having an out-of-body experience around 4:15 though. We got home and I slept allllll day. Everyone else was up and going by 11:00. Then I got up and headed for the ole mud bog! We got home around 2:00 a.m. or so, and I went to bed at 3:00. Then we got up and headed to the lake with D, D, Chase. We had a good time again. The pic is of Hayden the child of a friend of ours. He is a cutie.

Needless to say I am dragging...I have never had such heavy legs in my life!!! But I am re-gaining and will be back to my ole self soon. I am thankful I had the opportunity to share all these moments with my family. Life is good! love and peace to all.:))))))

What a weekend

Tuesday thoughts and concerns etc.

First of all I wanted to share this pic of Kallie. She went to a 80's themed party over the weekend. She was concerned about how to fix her hair and make-up. When I found out it was 80's I told her I was a 80's girl not to worry. I had it under control. I teased her hair, applied red lipstick, (which I love to this day), sky blue eyeshadow, thick, thick mascara, hoo--cheeee earings, lots of blush and hon she was ready to par---ty. She was amazed that MOM knew how to do her make-up. We had so much fun.

Secondly, thank you to all that wished Mark and I a happy anniversary. It was #24!!! Who would have ever thunk it???? We have really been together somewhere around 28 or 29 years. Over half of our lives!!!! We are blessed. At least I am; I am sure if you ask him he would have a different answer.:) wink, wink.

And to close I had lunch with this cutie putie today. She cracked me up drinking her fruit tea. Her glasses are too cute too. She had to have some to wear to be like her Gee-Gee. Only hers has rhinestones.

I have been asked several times this week if I am sad that Kallie is graduating. No, I really am not. I guess I know this is not about me. And she is so ready to move on from high school. Kallie is smartt, funny, pretty and we are just so proud of her. :)))))))))))

Jesse...

Jesse is leaving bright and early Friday morning for Honduras. He and Kallie went out to eat tonight since he won't be here for gradation. He is always so thoughtful and wanted to take her out before he left.

Jesse is a special guy. If you have ever talked with him you know he has a great heart and a love for others and for God. He will be working in a clinic Monday thru Friday and be back in the city on the weekends. I admire Jesse for leaving his comfort zone and reaching out to others. He is an excellent Christian example. This is his second year spending his entire summer helping others. He never seems to take a break, he just keeps on helping others.

During the school year he cooks at the Ronald McDonald house once a week with his service fraternity. His grandmother, Ms. Doreen knits hats for cancer patients and he gives them to the kids. Mike and Nancy have done a great job teaching Jesse to become a servant for the Lord. I am so proud of each of them.

We wish you the best ole Jess---we love you. Be safe and stay out of the garages while you are there!:)))))))))))

Today.......

Today I got up at 4:30 a.m. Nothing is wrong I just could not sleep. I got up and turn some heat on and saw Kallie's light on under the door. I thought she had probably fallen asleep reading. When I opened her door she WAS reading. She could not sleep either. Mark got up also, so-oooo I think the full moon bothers us all. Kyle was at a friends house, and of course Nick was bright eyed-and bushy tailed!!!

I have not been sleepy today either. It will hit me shortly. We have been out to Evan's house tonight. Mark and Kyle helped Evan, Barry, Colby and Matt put the ski tower on their boat. Looks like a lot of fun at the lake this year!!! Kallie got a wake board for Christmas so watch out for them!!! Uncle Darrell can't wait to try the board out---dead man (his lake nick-name) can do it if anyone can. Who knows the roster may even crow!!!

Popcorn is popping so I must go!:))) Have a good week. Ya know it is all what we make of it. Love and peace to all------

Simply Shakin...

Michelle and Britt have opened their new shoppe. If you are lucky sometimes they have a special helper!! They have ALL kinds of shakes, almost any combo they can do! Go by and check them out and have a nutrious shake. It is better than what we normally eat!!!

Best wishes to Michelle and Britt (and the little helper)I love each of you!!!

Where have I been...?

Sorry that I have really slacked on blogging lately. You know how life happens...we have been busy with Mothers' Day, PG, work etc. All of the Garrisons' came over Friday night. Ross and Jesse were even home!!!! They are special nephews. Ross is finishing up school and Jesse is already done. Please keep both of them in your prayers. Ross is beginning his work with the youth at Etheridge church of Christ and Jesse will be working again in Hondurus. He is teaching the folks how to resolve their conflicts Monday thru Friday in the mountains. And returns to the city on the weekends. He loves this work and Ross loves his. I am just blown away by these two guys, when I was there age I was married!! I am a proud aunt!!!

Saturday night we went to Murfreesboro for a change. We have been going to Cookeville a lot lately just because it is so much easier. I forgot that MTSU had their graduation Saturday and it was sooooooo crowded. We had a good time though, it is so nice to view different scenery.

Yesterday was church and catch up day!!! Kallie gave me a bead to go on my bracelet. Kyle gave me a charm as well as Mark. It was a good day- not because of the gifts but because it just was a good day. Love and peace to all
