Why I am blogging......
I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Thurdays thoughts....
What a busy week!!! I wouldn't want it any other way though:) Evan has double pneumonia and is really sick, Darrall has a tick bite that he is having to take antibiotics for and one of Evan's friends that goes to the lake with them often has a spider bite. Hopefully everyone is well on the way to recovery. I did get a bit concerned for Evan last night, but he did go to the Doctor (unwillingly) and I think he is proud now that he did!!!
It is back to the ole mud bog @ Centertown this weekend. We probably won't go to the lake because we are going on vacation next week and honestly, we need to rest. I do not bounce back as quickly as I use to! I still go and go but I feel it for a couple of days.
Jesse is still in Honduras and doing well. It is the rainy season there so it is HOT and wet. He rode a mule for FOUR hours recently. I guess in the mountains terrain that is the mode of transportation?!! I do know that from time to time he does ride a bus down the mountain and has been down in a jeep too. He translates for the others that comes in from other colleges, and is helping the people on the mountain with "conflict resolutions". I am impressed with him. I would have never gave up my summer to go to the mountains in another country. Ross is also doing well at Etheridge church of Christ as a intern youth minister. Never a dull moment, go, go, go. He has such deep love for the Lord and does well with the teenagers. He came home Monday night for Central's VBS and spoke to the teen class. Reed Tucker told me he did an "awesome" job. I am SURE he did. I am equally proud of Ross. I am a proud Aunt if you can't tell!!
Other BIG news around the Haley house----Mark can now wear shorts to work. I know this may not be big news to some but he has asked for fifteen years for this. So finally it did happen. He said it has helped a lot and they are also getting T-shirts to wear so those ole uniform pants and shirts are gone until winter. I know this helps all the guys that work in the shop--it has been 100+ outside and inside for several days.
I can't believe I have been around long enough for The King --Elvis and Michael to both die. Also, Farrah died today. She fought a good fight. She stayed so positive throughout her illness. It is one thing to be that sick but to remain positive and keep fighting is so honorable. This is all for now. love and peace to all.

Weekend update and other ramblings
Kallie and her Dad enjoying each other!!!
We had a GREAT weekend. We got up sort-of early Saturday and headed straight down to one of our spots. Whew-it was too hot for anything else.:)))) We grilled hotdogs and watch Evan, Kallie and friends wake-board. My mind wants to try but my body and that little voice inside says you had better not, so I listen. Knowing to listen to yourself comes with age, I think. There have been many times I heard the voice but didn't listen and regretted it so badly.
Sunday the whole gang headed back to the lake. We had a blast--met up with Joe, Donna, TJ and Emma. Those kids are so cute. They had came to our rescue earlier in the day. On our way toward Smithville we stopped in Dibrell thinking we had a flat tire on the trailer. After examining it (all the men in the truck) literally got out and touched it, they decided it was ok. Not!!!!!!We got to Whorton Springs and it was shredding as we drove. So we pulled over and had everything we needed, Except the right tool to remove the spare tire!!!! We drove my truck instead of Mark's and I am not as prepared for emergencies as Big Daddy is!!! So Mark was NOT happy at all, and no body was stopping to help until Joe and family came by. They had a handy dandy tool kit and we was ready to go in no time. Of course this is the ONLY time I did not wear my cover-up and I was on the side of the road in my swimsuit. I think that may have been the reason people were not stopping!!! Lesson learned, always wear clothes. I had my extra dry clothes in the boat but, well, I could not get them from where I was. EMBARRASSING!!! Mark later told me he was disappointed that no one stopped to help us especially since I was there in all my glory, I told him it took an older man to appreciate the finer things in life and that is why Joe stopped!!! TEEEEEEEEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Last week was a bit stressful. We took my Mom to the ER Saturday night and Monday she was transported via Ambulance to St. Thomas for an arteriogram on Tuesday. The great news is her heart is good no blockages or heart problems.:))))) Then on Wednesday Harris ( Mark's Dad) had the same test in Murfreesboro and great news again. No heart problems. :))))))))))))) So, by the time the weekend got here, we were READy for so time away and to relax.
I hope each of you got a chance to relax and enjoy whatever it is that brings you happiness. Love the ones you are with ------love and peace to all

Poo is the Birthday Boy!!!
Poo is 45 today!!! We cannot believe it, we do NOT feel 45! Just a number, huh!! Even though last night we both sat with ice bags on our necks and knees:)
Mark is a wonderful Dad, role model and husband. He has a great work ethic and always puts his family first. The kids know they can go to him with anything and he is there to listen, help or just to give advice.
He is my best friend and a great companion and the bestest in every way. We have been together most of our lives and I cannot imagine life without him. He IS Poo, Big Daddy and the love of my life. I love you!!
We will celebrate at the lake tomorrow. At his favorite spot, where-ever he decides. I am posting some of our special picks, however, I will post my favorite spot later. Have a great weekend and love the one your with!!love and peace

Saturday
We started early this morning with the usual family chores. First up was Nick. He is such a baby, :) he had to go visit the vet for sedation to be groomed. He is ungroomable without some night, night med. So as soon as we left the parking lot, he was out, so we came home and gave him a summertime haircut. I normally take him to the groomers, but I thought I could handle it. I did, but he is alittle shorter in places than others, all in all he is fine.
Next we cleaned vehicles, laundry, and on and on.
Kallie has the Best ideal for the day......Chicago! Barry and Aleesha gave her a trip to Chicago. Aleesha and some of her friends go each year, for shopping, eating and a tour of something. Kallie was invited this year. Nice, huh?? So while we were COVERED in dog hair she was in the air, and while we were COVERED in sweat, she landed in Chicago. Good for her-----
Of course, Kyle cannot be without something to do. He has gone riding and to the mud bog at Harrison Ferry tonight. Thankfully, I do not have to attend:))))))) thank you Corey.
We missed our Friday night adventure with D,D, and C but hopefully they will be with us tomorrow at the lake. The water has warmed up enough for me to get in!!! Last Sunday I over did it. Sunburned is not even the word. I had sunscreen applied (new at that) and I have a good base tan but that does not matter. So, tomorrow I will be very careful, even sunburns hurt more than they use too!!!!! love and peace to all
