Why I am blogging......

I started this blog to up-date others on the day-to-day events of our family. As the children grew older, and I grew wiser, I realized I wanted to change my direction, and the children wanted to be ommitted from the blog completely. I hope to still manage to include them from time to time but perhaps just through pictures. I am searching for my niche, and way to help lighten the load of others and perhaps lead others to my savior, Jesus Christ. I am focusing on "What really matters" and hopefully, I can help others in some small productive way. While I am changing gears, I will still be throwing in random thoughts, recipes and etc. I am glad you stopped by and bear with me, as I begin to grow and span my wings and fly in a new direction!

Gratitude

Gratitude is defined as..the quality or feeling of being thankful.Everyone defines gratitude differently, which is a good thing. Like I tell my kids, if we were all the same we would be boring. So what I am grateful for may seem silly or crazy to others, but that is okay. I try to remember to be a blessing to others daily. It does not require much to just lighten the load of others. When life gets overwhelming (and when doesn't it?) it's easy to forget the important stuff; the large or small, that help define your life. I am grateful for time away, sleep, hearing my kids laugh, hot showers, the ability to remember, Mark, the joy of Nick. I want to share 4 benefits of giving thanks...it helps you feel in control, it improves your health, it helps you cope better with trauma, and it helps with self-worth and self-esteem. I am grateful that I know God and can talk to him anytime, anywhere. So take time this week to slow down, (I am trying) help others in some small way, and look around we are so blessed. I am grateful for the "now" moments.
